We are a top show home for Chinese Shar-Pei in the US. We have 3 Westminster winners and 2 Best in Show dogs.
My husband, Michael Lauer, is a Professional Handler. He is also a Director of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, past president of the Charleston [SC] Kennel Club, and is the Head Trainer for PetSmart.
I am a retired RN, have an extra degree in Nutrition, was the Secretary of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America for 6 years until Mike wanted to run for Director and 2 members of the same family cannot be on the Board at the same time.
We are one of only 12 Shar-Pei breeders recommended by the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, having signed both Code of Conduct and the Code of Ethics.
We have all colors, and both coat types. In fact we have 3 colors that only we have. We have pet and show puppies available most of the time.
We work with NIH [National Institutes of Health] and UC Davis on extending the longevity in this breed. We have 11 generations of our dogs, so we know the health much more in depth than breeders of any dog who use someone else's stud and has very little idea of his siblings, parents, grandparents. And we have enough dogs to breed to our own without close breedings.
We emphasize Health, Temperament, and Conformation [how they will do in the show ring] in that order. There's no reason to have a dog win in the show ring who is not exuberantly healthy with a wonderful personality.
All of our dogs are on vitamins-people vitamins. All vaccinations are given in separate shots, separated by at least 5 days. Only the core vaccines are given, not the unnecessary or dangerous ones. I have studied this for 21 years, we know what we are doing. That is why our guarantee is for life, not 48 hours, 2 years, 4 years, but for the life of the dog. You can't do better than SHENANIGANS.
